It was hot hot hot!!! Yesterday I checked my bank account online and found that there was a suspicious charge for over $1300. I freaked out and spent a huge lump sum for an 800 phone call to my bank, informing them of the fiasco. Today I checked again and it looks like my bank canceled all Thailand transactions made, and the merchants I truly bought items from are re-placing their orders. What a relief! I was afraid I’d have to work some shifts at the beer bars just to get home. ;-D

Last night I hung out at a beer bar and played jenga with a couple of ladies. They are amazing at it, building the blocks in many creative ways. I had such a great time. The beer bar girls are very friendly, more conservatively dressed than the go-go girls, but just as beautiful. Some were happily singing and dancing to their local beats. A lady named Sam beat Jay at Milton Bradley 4-Across 9 to 7. Not bad considering she’s a professional 4-Across player.

Later on we headed to Tiffany’s for a visual feast. Tiffany’s is the very first and most extravagant transvestite cabaret show in all of Thailand. In a place where labor costs relatively low, sumptious set designs and elaborate costumes are a wonderful outlet for local artists. It was so beautiful, my face hurt from smiling. These lady-boys are stars!!! After the show, they go out and meet the audience and pose for pictures for 40 Baht. (It’s about $1.) I couldn’t resist. As for Jay, the lady-boys let me know they wanted to borrow him for a moment, so I thrust him toward a bunch of them and was thoroughly amused as these gorgeous ladies surrounded him, touching him here, there and everywhere.

Today we have a bit of a break from the heat. The skies are overcast, so I’m heading to the beach to catch the sweet breeze. I need more dresses and perhaps a massage. Till next time…
