Freddie Mercury“This is your life. Don’t play hard to get. It’s a free world. All you have to do is fall in love. Play the game, everybody play the game of love.”

It’s Queen Day in our house. My iTunes Queen playlist was on at daytime, and we watched Queen videos and live shows on the DLP at night… watching Freddie move, his passion, his voice, his sexy body immortalized.

I was too young to appreciate Freddie Mercury when he was alive. He has touched me, though, and he is in me, in the songs about freedom and the search for true love. His anthems may forever be murdered by drunken sports fans all over the world, but for me it’ll always be the ballads.

“Save me, save me, save me! I’m naked and I’m far from home.”
