Sexuality Trumps Goodness
Okay, this freaking sucks. I just lost the entry I was about to post, and now I have to re-create it. Wordpress has been glitching on me for a few weeks now. I really need to upgrade but haven’t had the time. I always get stressed out about upgrading, which is why I hardly ever do. It’s always been easy, less than five minutes, but there is that nagging fear of “What if?” Five minutes quickly turn into hours sometimes when dealing with websites, and I just haven’t had the time.
All right, deep breath…
I received a really sweet email from Edward D. Uken:
“I think often sexuality trumps our ‘goodness’ in many people’s eyes which I think is a shame. I believe you can be a good person, do great things in your life, AND be a sexual deviant. In fact, I think most creative and forward thinking people do tend to be extremely sexual, as it is sexual energy that drives creation. I thought it was interesting to get a female perspective that was uncolored by politics or dogma. Honest, refreshing, and ultimately to me a portrait of something uniquely beautiful, although in a very unconventional form. I think what I find most amazing about the whole site and everything is that you and Jay are able to accept each other fully, including the darkest depths of your imaginations. That fact alone brought me to tears about two or three pages into the site.”
I like this email because Ed articulates so simply a lesson I’ve learned over the years my porn image has slowly been exposed to family and friends. It’s also encouraging to read about what makes my porn site different from the millions in cyberspace. Thank you, Ed!
To keep my ego deflated, I also received a really nasty email:
“You women are disgusting, because you disgust me. That means you are officially disgusting. It is now fact. Fucktards. Stop being so weird.”
*shrug* Can’t win them all.
