Summer in Maine

We’re finally settled in our little lakeside cabin in Maine. My toddler and I have been swimming everyday. Jay has gone all out to make our cabin as nice and cozy as he could. He tore out the old carpet from the ’70s and installed barn board floors. He bought all early 1900s antique furniture and kept the decor rustic. He dug up an amazing fire pit outside, bought cast iron cookware and has been cooking dinner for us every night. After dinner we sit around the fire and look up at the millions of stars visible from this neck of the woods. All his efforts have made up for the mosquito bites and the lack of a shower. His folks have a shower just five minutes away in the main house, but it makes clean-up after spontaneous sex an arduous task. Being in such close quarters (there is only one bedroom in the cabin) has also been difficult. Everytime we’ve tried to have sex lately, our kid wakes up and interrupts. My poor husband has the biggest case of blue balls! Still, I try. I can’t give up. One of these days we’ll get it right.
