There’s No Place Like Home

I’m back in California, feeling the sand between my toes, watching the surfers ride the Pacific waves, making my beautiful home my own.

Some highlights from the yellow brick road:

Unlikely thugs at the playgrounds of Central Park: three Latina 8-year-olds threw sand at my little one’s face; mom who almost bashed my face in with a plush ball after my kid threw the ball at her toddler that made him reel back and hit his head on the cement structure (What is up with the concrete playground, NYC? Population control? Toughening up the little ones?); mean boy who pushed my kid off the swing (and later cried in the carousel, which gave my kid a lot of satisfaction, “That mean boy is scared of the carousel!”).

Rainy, misty, muggy, didn’t get a chance to meet up with anyone I planned to see in New York City. So sorry, but this trip I didn’t <3 NYC.

Confusion at the bus station, got lost in the Poconos in Pennsylvania. Feeling vulnerable with a sleepy little one in tow, we got off the bus after the driver confronted us, white hair luminous against his dark skin and flashing eyes, “You don’t want to go to Efron.” I looked around at the gaunt, weary, night shift types remaining on the bus. “No one gets out of Efron,” one of them spoke. I shuddered and got out at the Park and Ride, where I spied a taxi service.

Taxi Lady was kind, warm and took us, cold and wet and lost travelers, to the Pocono Inn.

Just the day before, the little one had a hankering for chicken soup and cherry juice. Two Turkish ladies at the Istanbul Grill in Stroudsburg, PA served it up with the warmest smiles I’ve seen in the whole tri-state area.

Shook the Mayor’s hand at the Pocono Inn lobby before our friend Satan picked us up to spend the weekend with his family.

My eyes exploded when I saw a whole aisle of fireworks for sale at the dollar store! A whole aisle!!! Fireworks!!!!! Pennsylvania rocks!

Women in Indianapolis have the bounciest boobs I’ve ever seen!

It’s great to be back in California. There’s no place like home.

“Women in Indianapolis have the bounciest boobs I’ve ever seen!”

They should put that in the tourism advertisements. ;)

Glad that you’re home and happy! Despite the tough bits along the way.

Whew, glad you made it back, sounds like quite the trip.

As for Indianapolis…I have to agree, I worked there last year and the girl I hooked up with, largest chest I’ve ever had and very bouncy…not very good at head though. :)

I’ve lived in Indianapolis for almost twenty years, and it pretty much sucks. What May means to say is, the women there are the fattest.
