Family time…
Me: My booboo’s drying up so it splits now. It hurts everytime it splits though.
Jay: Like testicles.
Wee one: What’s testicles?
Laugh.
Me: (to Jay) You started it.
Jay: They’re balls.
Wee one looks confused.
Me: Girls don’t have them. Only boys. (Wee one looks at me inquisitively.) Under the pecker there are two little round things that they call balls because they’re round. But scientifically they’re called testicles. They’re very fragile. That’s why sometimes when you kick Daddy not on purpose close to his pecker he gets hurt. That’s all I’m going to say about that.
Wee one went on playing. Whew! Parenthood is a tricky job.

a better way to start sex education, naming the parts. I remember my friends and relatives were shocked when my 4 year old son said that his “titi” is getting bigger!
Heeeheee
Kids are so innocent! They haven’t yet learned to be embarrassed by their bodies. If only we adults can stay the same.
