Craig, you brought up the low quality of the videos on tube sites. Seems like the tube sites are a great way to preview porn and find out which you would like to later on pay for the higher quality version, whether it’s a DVD or a membership subscription. If producers make great porn, showing a lower quality video of it on the tube sites may actually encourage, rather than discourage sales, wouldn’t it?

I think what has really helped porn become so popular is the way it has become easier and easier to view it privately without others knowing. Porn really took off when it became viewable on VHS and we didn’t have to go to dirty run down theaters anymore…plus we could jack off to our hearts content in the privacy of our own homes. It also really opened up porn to women and couples who would never go into a theatre.

Later when they lowered the cost of DVDs to a reasonable level after they realized that people would actually buy them instead of renting this opened things up to people who wouldn’t want to be seen going in and out of an adult store either.

The internet has now become the next logical step where you don’t even have to own anything tangible and can do it all in the privacy of your own home without worrying about your mailman finding out about your porn habit…or your significant other if you know how to cover your tracks.

Porntubes are great for seeing a wide variety of porn without spending money to rent something you might not end up likeing. It has also opened things up for viewing the kind of things like fisting and pissing that perverts like me enjoy. For too long American porn producers were to damn conservative and left that stuff out of anything they sold on DVD.

It has been great to see a lot of the classics from my theater watching days become available too.

The downside of porntubes is that the quality can be pretty crappy. And of course it is cutting into the money that producers make and ultimately to what the performers are paid. It may be difficult to maintain quality for much longer, but maybe the industry needs a bit of pruning anyway. As someone who remembers the days that you could watch almost every movie that came out in a year it is a bit overwhelming how much gets made these days!

Anyway, any chance to see more of the always lovely and sexy May Ling Su can never be a bad thing.

Before I discovered the plethora of porn tubes I had purchased 200 DVDs at a wholesale price . Most of those DVD have never been viewed. The convenience of on-line porn has almost made those DVDs obsolete

ELH, I support phasing out DVD altogether for porn and mainstream movies. We as a society should do away with so much disposable crap like DVD packaging, disks, etc. The move toward virtual media will actually minimize the amount of waste that winds up on the landfills. You wouldn’t believe how many movies we have here at home, DVDs and VHS. Recently we started buying movie downloads on Amazon, a better option because there is no need to store the media and they’re accessible from anywhere there is wifi. As for tube sites, it’s a little overwhelming for me. So much porn!!! I feel like I could get sucked into it and next thing I know it’s been 3 days! hahahaha

I think that on-line viewing will replace most DVDs. Both adult and mainstream titles. It’s great for the consumer but bad for the people that produce the titles. The good news is that I think it will encourage more low budget independent titles being produced without having to jump through so many flaming hoops. Like it or not on-line viewing will replace the adult DVD like VHS replaced the adult theater.

A girl that models for me (Miss Ling) turned me on to the tube sites over a year ago. Since then I have hardly watched a DVD.
